We are back home from our vacation to MN, MS, and FL. What a trip! It was so wonderful to see everyone, but so exhausting! The time flew by and we were busy all the time. I am so happy to be home and just relax. The twins are back on schedule now and are sleeping and napping at the same times as before!! Yeah!!
First we got to MN. After 13 hours on 2 different planes, we finally got to MN and boy were the twins grumpy. Emerson was so upset! It took him so long to get used to people being around him all the time. He is a nervous kid and this didn't help. After we were in MN for 3 days, we left for Disney World for a week. Disney World was great! The kids loved it. We had 13 people in our group, so it was kind of crazy to keep up with everyone. Epcot was mine and my husband's favorite, but the kids liked Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. My friend, Jennifer, who I met in Japan and is currently stationed in GA, came to meet us at Disney World. It was so great to see her again and I was so thankful that she came to meet us. The plane ride there was great with the kids, but on the way back, the twins had had enough. Emerson threw up all over me and in my hair when we were landing. Oh well, I just washed it off and moved on. Then, he threw up in the car on the way to my husband's parents house 3 times. When we got there, he took a bath and then he was running around and laughing like nothing ever happened. Motion sickness??
After we got back to MN, 4 days there and then we drove to MS. That was a great trip. The twins were great in the car and no one threw up! Yeah! We stopped 2 nights and it wasn't that bad. I actually prefer to drive somewhere if I can. I don't like flying that much, especially after flying to MN from Japan and then from MN to FL. That is so much flying! When we got to MS, I was so happy to see my family who I haven't seen in 4 years. They were so happy to meet the twins and see the other children. It went by so fast. We were only there 10 days and then back to MN for 2 weeks.
After MS, I was ready to come back to Japan. That was enough traveling for me and the kids. I was so happy to get back home!!! The plane ride back to Japan was actually great! The kids were happy and the twins slept most of the time. Yeah, we got really lucky.
When we got home, we came home to a moldy house. The base does not allow air-conditioning here because it is only hot for 2 months out of the year. As you can imagine, Japan is very humid. Due to mold damage, we had to throw away our recliner, kitchen table and chairs, and some other stuff. We have already replaced all of it, but it was a pain. We had to clean our carpet and wipe down everything. Luckily, nothing upstairs was moldy at all.
After all of that, I am just happy to get things back to normal.
